Garlogie Hall is a much-loved community venue complete with a traditional open coal fire. It’s available to hire by clubs, organisations and individuals — perfect for weddings, parties, ceilidhs and all kinds of events.

Our mission is to enrich local life by promoting education, wellbeing and recreation. Managed entirely by volunteers, the hall serves as a hub for social events, leisure activities and community gatherings that bring people together.

Regular users include the Garlogie Indoor Bowling Club, Cullerlie & Garlogie SWI, and a ladies’ badminton club. A popular Community Café runs fortnightly throughout the year, and other groups such as the Deeside Thistle Cycling Club and the Aberdeenshire Reels Club also frequent the hall.

Garlogie Hall sits within the Garlogie Conservation Area. Originally part of the former Garlogie Mill, the granite building was converted into a community hall by the Dunecht Estate in 1931 and gifted to Aberdeenshire County Council in 1969. Since 1975, it has been managed by the Garlogie Hall Management Committee.

Although much of the mill has been lost, what remains is Grade A listed by Historic Environment Scotland. The neighbouring Engine House, managed by the Garlogie Beam Engine Trust since 2023, houses what is believed to be the oldest working steam engine still in its original location in Scotland.

We’re always looking for new committee members or local supporters to help with events, maintenance, or fundraising. If you have time, skills, or ideas to offer — we’d love to hear from you!
